About Me

I earned a graduate degree in education from New England College. I became certified in elementary and special education. I taught Kindergarten and 5th grade. In the classroom, I provided a whole child approach to encompass students and parents giving support around early childhood behavior interventions. Strategies included positive reinforcement and providing parents with behavior modifications to incorporate in the home. I have had the opportunity to teach English as a second language. I later became a 5th-grade teacher and incorporated responsive classroom, a reward program, developed and followed educational plans for students. I provided parental support for parents whose child exhibited academic challenges. Parents and teachers consulted with me regarding behavior, family, and social challenges. It was this experience that prompted me to pursue my Master's Degree in counseling.

I received my second Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Substance Use Services from Southern New Hampshire University. I am proud to have graduated from this program as an accelerated student with high standing.

My work with families and adolescents has included helping those experiencing substance use with co-occurring disorders to explore health, safety, and balance. I have provided treatment for families who are experiencing homelessness to secure avenues to become safe and independent. My work with youth and families incorporates the disciplines of dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and motivational enhancement therapy.

I am currently licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in New Hampshire. I am a member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
